4 Ways to Turn Stale Toast into Delicious Recipes

Ever bought a pack of toast and forgot to use the rest of it for a few days till it turned musty and dry? Stale toast on a kitchen counter is an unpleasant sight, but we’re here to tell you that you no longer have to live with the guilt of tossing dry bread in the trash when it’s no longer fresh. Be it for breakfast, midday snack or a midnight craving, we’re going to show you how to repurpose stale toast into four delicious recipes.

Mini pizza toast

When toast or bread loses its prime, the best call is to cook it. And who doesn’t love a delicious, homemade and easy to prep pizza? Here are the ingredients you’ll need:

  • Toast
  • Butter
  • Pizza sauce
  • Your choice of meat: cooked chicken, turkey, or pepperoni
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Green peppers

Directions:

In a pan, put the cheese to melt, then add your toast on top and brush its upper side with butter. Flip the buttered side of the toast onto the pan so that it turns crispy golden. Add some marinara or tomato sauce, then start layering your ingredients by adding cheese, pepper, your choice of meat, and more cheese. After layering all the ingredients, close the pan lid for a few minutes until the cheese completely melts. Eat your pizza toast warm and serve it alongside some fresh greens.

Cheese hotdog fingers

Elevate your toast repurposing game with this easy spin on the classic ‘pig in a blanket’ recipe! Here are the ingredients you’ll need:

  • Toast
  • Hotdog cut in halves
  • American or cheddar cheese
  • 1-3 Eggs (depending on the quantity you’ll be making)
  •  ¼  cup of milk (add more milk depending on the quantity you’ll be making)
  • Oil or butter
  • Salt & pepper

Directions:

Cut the edges of your toast and put it aside. In a pan, boil hotdog pieces for 2-3 minutes. After the hotdogs are tender, roll each piece into cheese, then wrap it into toast.

In a separate bowl, whisk a mixture of eggs, salt and pepper, and milk. Dip the cheese hotdog fingers in the mixture.  Brush a pan with some sunflower or olive oil. When the oil starts getting warm, put your hotdogs in the pan and cook until they turn crispy golden. Serve your hotdog fingers alongside some ketchup, mustard, and French fries.

Omelette breakfast for champs

For anyone craving a hearty breakfast in the morning, you will enjoy every bite of this delicious sandwich. You will need the following ingredients:

  • Eggs
  • Salt & black pepper
  • 2 pieces of toast
  • Butter
  • Turkey
  • Cheese

Directions

Butter your pan, add your eggs and let them cook. When the omelette starts cooking, add two pieces of toast and brush both of them with butter. Flip the omelette so the toast becomes underneath it and gets a crispy golden crust.

Fold the sides of your omelette to easily wrap it in the toast, then add some cheese and turkey. Fold the toast pieces on top of each other to form a sandwich. Once both sides are nice and crispy, serve your omelette sandwich warm.
